Explore the beauty of Georgian Bay from the seat of a kayak.
A kayak trip is probably the best way to enjoy the beauty of the sparkling waters of our unique coast of Georgian Bay. The Georgian Bay Biosphere is designated as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. In a kayak, you paddle quietly and almost effortlessly along the surface of the water. Quiet ripples left behind from the dip of your paddle is the only disturbance you make. A kayak floats in mere inches of water, so we can be close to the shore to see the granite rocks, white pine trees, and little minks as they scramble up the shore with their crayfish lunch in their mouth. Come share a day with our guides and let them show you the beauty of Georgian Bay, a world full of wonder. We’ve designed two full day kayak tours that take you to the most scenic and breathtaking spots on the Bay.
Kayaking Day Trip Option 1 – Jones Island Lighthouse and Outer Islands
Meet your friendly guide at Oak Point Marina on Parry Island, home of the Wasauksing First Nation community. Paddle from the launch point and start your tour of the islands by heading towards the Jones Island Lighthouse. The Jones Island Light tower is a “Recognized” Federal Heritage Building because of its historical, architectural and environmental values. We can land our kayaks and spend some time exploring the light tower and the island it sits on. From there we will continue on our tour to the outside of Cathcart Island where you will enjoy a delicious shore lunch prepared by your guide. Enjoy this time to swim and explore the island before heading back on an alternate route to explore even more of the islands off the coast of Oak Point.
Meet at Oak Point Marina on Parry Island, usually at around 10 am. The tour finishes at around 4:00 pm. The times and meet up will be arranged with your guide pre-trip. All equipment, safety gear and a gourmet lunch is provided.
Kayaking day trip Option 2 – Killbear Provincial Park and Islands
Launching from the day use beach at Killbear Provincial Park, we will head out to paddle and explore the islands off the coast of Killbear. The park has over 12 km of rugged shoreline and three islands to explore. There are dozens of other islands within a short paddle of Killbear park where we’ll find smooth glacier rock, rugged white pines, and awesome views of Georgian Bay cottages and lighthouses. We’ll find the perfect spot to enjoy our shore lunch and then relax on the warm granite rock or take a swim in the sparkling freshwater of Georgian Bay before heading back to the sandy beach at Killbear.
Meet at Day use beach at Killbear Provincial Park, usually at around 10 am. The tour finishes at around 4 pm. The times and meet up will be arranged with your guide pre-trip. All equipment, safety gear and a gourmet lunch is provided.
How many people can come?
We can accommodate groups of up to 6 people on most days, over six requires two guides but can be accommodated at the same per person price. Day trips require a minimum of two participants to run.
Weather and cancellations
Due to the nature of the elements and outdoor adventure, trips are dependent on the weather. Your guide will make the call on whether the trip can run the night before your scheduled date by 7 pm and will call you to advise and to check in the evening before. Usually, day trips will not be canceled, because we have alternate routes we can take dependant on the wind direction. In the event that we do have to cancel due to inclement weather, a full refund or date exchange will be arranged. If you decide to cancel your day-trip you must notify us four or more days in advance to receive a full refund less transaction fee of twenty percent.
