The crystal clear blue water around the 30, 000 islands make Georgian Bay a prime wilderness destination. Algonquin Park is famous for wildlife viewing as well as pristine lakes. Our 5-day trip combines Ontario’s most beautiful natural destinations with four different types of adventures: sea kayaking, hiking, SUP and canoeing.
Start your adventure glamping in our sixteen-acre woods at Harmony Outdoor Inn, located on the shore of the Seguin River in Parry Sound, Ontario. Your tent is like a hotel room in the woods with handcrafted beds featuring luxurious bedding. Once you’ve arrived and checked in, you will be met by your stand up paddleboard instructor, and taken out for a lesson at our waterfront. Your dinner will be served in the Harmony Pavilion and you will have time to enjoy a campfire and swimming at the waterfront.
Tuesday after breakfast, you will begin your kayaking adventure on Georgian Bay with one of our guides. A kayak trip is probably the best way to enjoy the beauty of the sparkling waters of our unique coast of Georgian Bay. The Georgian Bay Biosphere is designated as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. A kayak floats in mere inches of water, so we can be close to the shore to see the granite rocks, white pine trees, and little minks as they scramble up the shore with their crayfish lunch in their mouth. Enjoy a delicious shore lunch along the way, and let your guide show you the beauty of Georgian Bay. You’ll enjoy dinner in our outdoor pavilion this evening and free time to stand-up paddleboard again at our waterfront, or time to relax in a hammock in the trees.
Wednesday morning after breakfast, you drive to the Island Queen, located five minutes from Harmony Outdoor Inn to experience their two-hour morning boat cruise of the windswept inner islands of Georgian Bay.
After your Island Queen cruise, the next leg of your adventure continues. You will be provided a map and suggestions for lunch stops on your drive to the Voyageur Quest retreat in Algonquin Park. You may arrive at anytime after 3pm where you will be greeted by your Voyageur Quest hosts. When you arrive you have time to settle in, shower, sauna and enjoy wine and cheese before your delicious dinner in the Log Cabin.
Thursday after breakfast, head out for the day to explore Surprise Lake by Voyageur canoe. Cliff jumping, swimming and a picnic lunch at Red Rock. Algonquin Park established in 1893 is the oldest provincial park in Canada and is a third the size of Belgium! Algonquin has amazing wildlife viewing opportunities as you quietly glide past the shores which inhabit Moose, Bear and Beaver. Enjoy your leisurely paddle as we island hop our way down the lake and arrive via canoe back at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Relax, swim, take a sauna, or test your skills with the Log Cabin Eco-Challenge. Dinner tonight is a BBQ followed by “Voices of Algonquin” night paddle.
Friday morning you will take a wild edible interpretive walk to Lookout Bluff overlooking Algonquin lakes. Before departure from the Log Cabin, you will be given another delicious lunch.
