Kayak trip Clayoquot Sound, British Columbia

Tofino to Hot Springs Cove - Sea kayakers’ paradise

Clayoquot Sound is a sea kayaker’s paradise, famous for its long, secluded and spectacular sandy beaches and old growth forests. This temperate coastal rainforest provides important refuge and habitat for a significant number of animals. Bald eagles, wolves, ospreys, humpback whales and gray whales are common in the area.

Also rich in human history, going back more than 5,500 years, signs of First Nations occupation can still be found.

Our seven-day Clayoquot Sound kayak trip departs from Tofino, BC. We have the option to paddle the outside of Vargas Island if the weather is fair or to paddle safely within it's protection if we need to.  At some point we will head out onto the beautiful open pacific coast. Either way, rest assured, your guides are kayaking professionals with extensive experience and training.

Hot Springs Cove

Our paddling route will take us from the town of Tofino heading north to our final destination Hot Springs Cove. These untouched geothermal hot springs in the Maquinna Provincial Park. This is an amazing natural place to end our trip and bathe in the warmth of the springs. As the springs drop through a series of pools they are cooled the lower they flow where they mix with the sea.

Participant Feedback

James and Dympna's passionate enthusiasm for the sport and extensive experience inspired my sense of adventure. I highly recommend any of their courses for those wishing not only to develop their skills but to increase their comfort level on the water.
