Yoga Kayaking Trip on Georgian Bay

Whether you're a kayaker, a yogi or are just interested in a summer getaway, this five day adventure is a great place to begin. It's for kayakers who want to explore the benefits of adding a little yoga to their daily routine. It's also for yogis who want to try kayaking! Let's put all of these passionate paddlers and yogis together and head out to explore the beauty of the Georgian Bay from the seat of a kayak.

Kayaking on Georgian Bay Itinerary 

Itinerary

Day One: Your guides will ensure the pace is comfortable for everyone travelling within the group as you embark on our kayaking trip from Killarney. We will meet at 10am. We will begin with a group welcome and kayak packing session. We'll check to make sure your personal gear you've brought with you is packed appropriately so that it stays dry while on trip. We'll distribute group gear and help you with your packing. We'll then have lunch together before we head out on our adventure. We will paddle out of Chikanishing creek to the north shore of Georgian Bay. We’ll travel southeast, exploring stunning island archipelagos, wind sculpted white pines and beautiful, rolling, ancient granite. We'll arrive at our base camp where your guides will set up our kitchen and group area while you set up your tent and sleeping pad. Your guides will be happy to help you with your tent set-up if you need an extra hand. After a delicious dinner we will relax with a gentle evening wind down yoga class.

Day Two: After our morning salutations to the sun and a delicious breakfast we'll spend some time learning to kayak in the quiet waters near our camp. We'll then have lunch and get ready to head out for a paddle. We will return to camp in time for you to relax while your guides prepare your evening meal.

Day Three-four: After an energetic yoga class we will enjoy our breakfast and get ready to head out for a day of discovery. There are so many beautiful inlets and islands in this area that it’s difficult to
decide where to stop for our picnic lunches. We typically return to camp around 3 p.m. to relax, swim, read a book, explore the island or take an afternnon nap. We wind down our day with some blissful yoga relaxation postures.

Day Five: We'll start our day with our morning yoga class and then enjoy our breakfast together. We'll then begin to break down camp and pack our kayaks. Depending on our camp takedown, we will have our lunch before leaving camp or we will enjoy it along the way to our take-out in Killarney. We plan to return to Killarney for 3pm at the latest, giving you ample time to return home on Sunday night.

Our trip yoga instructor is available to help you develop a personal yoga practice that best suits the demands you put on your body in order to keep it running like a well oiled machine, ready to take on whatever challenges you want to throw at it.

Also on the trip is a certified kayak instructor available to work on whatever skills you'd like to work on in your kayak. This trip is a pleasure trip and although there is no formal kayaking instruction, instructors can coach to whatever skill level you are at in your kayak. Try your first wet exit and practice your superstar paddling strokes!

Our guides take care of our needs on land as well, with a fully equipped campsite. The food is fresh and plentiful; in fact, many say they eat better on our trips than they do at home!

What to bring on your Georgian Bay kayak trip

  • sleeping bag
  • clothes suitable to wilderness tripping in your own personal dry bags
  • camera, binoculars, or any additional comfort items you choose

*Your Georgian Bay kayak trip guides prepare fresh, delicious meals including baked breads and goodies from our outback oven. Once informed, we can accommodate most food allergies and preferences
